Chemistry and smartphones
Even if you have a basic knowledge of chemistry, you will be familiar with the periodic table. This is how we try to find out what is the role of chemistry in the smartphone in your hand?
So of the 83 non-radioactive elements in the periodic table, at least 70 elements are present in smartphones. Of all the stable elements we know so far, 84% are in your smartphone.
Metals play a key role in making smartphones "smart". On an average, there are 62 different types of metals in a smartphone, of which the role of a particular type of rare earth metals is very important. In addition to scandium and yttrium, they also contain lanthanides (57-71).
An iPhone contains 8 different rare earth metals. In addition, if you check many smartphones, you can find 16 to 17 types of metals.
Many of the colors we see on our screens are due to rare earth metals. Similarly, if your smartphone does not have neodymium and dysphorium, it will not be able to vibrate.
Display:
One of the things you pay attention to when buying a mobile phone is its screen display. The most important thing in making a screen is to make it extremely hard. So that if ever the mobile falls, the damage is minimal.
The screening event is also very interesting.
In 1952, a chemist at Corning Glass Works tried to heat a glass sample to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. But due to the fault of the thermostat, it got heated to 900 degrees. When opened, they plunged into the ocean of wonder and amazement that the furnace did not collapse despite the high temperatures.
There was another accident where he fell to the floor with his legs when he pulled out the glass. Although it should have been broken, it bounced off the floor.
Thus came the world's first glass-ceramic. (It is a material that has half the properties of glass and half of ceramics)
Touch Screens:
There are two types.
1. The first type is resisto. They are capable of working when you touch them with anything. That is, it can be used by touching it with a pencil and also with the finger of your hand. Also, if you are wearing gloves, your screen will still be activated. This screen is found in check counters in most ATMs and stores.
2. The second most important type found in smartphones is the capacitive screen.
It is electric. Capacitor As you know there is any device that can store charge. When you touch the capacitive screen with your finger, a small amount of charge is transferred to your finger. And at this point in the screen the voltage decreases. Inside the smartphone is a controller that identifies the place from which it drops the voltage and commands the appropriate action accordingly.
